Questions
Yes. ECXIB uses a PAP+ (phthalimido peroxy caproic acid) formulation — not hydrogen peroxide. PAP+ is a newer generation whitening agent that breaks down stains on tooth enamel without the bleaching chemistry that causes sensitivity in many people. The treatment is a self-application cosmetic service, not a dental procedure. Ellesse provides full guidance throughout, and all clients complete a consent form before starting. This service is available to clients aged 18 and over, and photo ID is required at the first appointment.
Most clients see results lasting between 6 and 12 months, though this varies depending on lifestyle. Coffee, red wine, tea, and smoking all affect how quickly teeth re-stain after whitening. Clients who use a top-up pen (£25) between sessions tend to maintain their shade for longer. A second session or course of 3 will also extend and deepen results significantly.
Most clients experience no sensitivity at all. Because the formulation is peroxide-free, the sharp tingling or pain sometimes associated with hydrogen peroxide whitening simply doesn't occur for the vast majority of people. Those with existing sensitivity or dental concerns are advised to check with their dentist before booking, and a patch test can be arranged on request.
